Do children over 2 really need a nap ?

This research is a literature review, looking at the research regarding napping for children over 2. The conclusion is that children naturally phase out the day napping between age 2-4 and once they have done this, prolonged/enforced napping has a conquence on the duration (they sleep less) and the quality (the sleep more poorly) of sleep at night.
